Dominican Republic Earthquake 35th Day of the Year


The Dominican Republic, located in the Caribbean, was hit by a 5.3 earthquake earlier this afternoon. The US Geological Society said the earthquake struck at 9.33am local time (2.33pm GMT) at a depth of 42 miles. The earthquake was also felt in Haiti, which shares an island with Dominican Republic, and nearby the US territory of Puerto Rico.

This story emerges right after Superbowl 53.
